a big AND nasty truck

all my games are pretty short. a lot of them are autobiographical or otherwise personal, and, at this point, i'd say most of my published games are probably bitsy games. often, my goal with my games is to make something that feels "good" or "right" to me, and that concept or feeling is not static. i sometimes go in and edit old games when what i want from them has changed. none of my games are intended to be read as "empathy games."

- i had a thought of you (demo) is a short bitsy poem named after an ajj song. it was made in january 2025.

- the kellen valley library pen pal program was made for the overdue library books bitsy jam in may 2021.
- god why am i awake was part of volume 13 of my zine "maybe i'll figure it out next month," which was a monthly zine that started in june 2018, and ended in june 2019. volume 13 was the last volume and came out in june 2019.
- engine rats was from volume 11 of "maybe i'll figure it out next month," which came out in april 2019.
- exploding is a small, abstract, stream-of-consciousness bitsy game from february and then april 2020.
- i love your compound eyes is a short love poem made for the pollinators bitsy jam in august 2022.
- fruit loops milk is a game poem about rats and cars made for the loops bitsy jam in july 2022.
- i cannot for the life of me escape from getting splinters is a game poem/pattern of dappled sunlight on the back of your eyelids made for smilejam in may 2026.
(published) games made as a student
- escort yourself out was made in 2018, as part of an undergraduate thesis project. it's inspired by escort mission games. in the game, you escort your (my) 12-year-old self through triggering environments. it was a selection of the dreamhack atlanta 2019 student game showcase.
- in my friend carrie's car was also made in 2018, as part of the same undergrad thesis project. it's a text-based game about driving one town over to buy some plants and reflecting on a period of about five years. it was inspired by things like journaling and narrative formation.
- this is just a normal, run-of-the-mill walking simulator and everything is fine, don't worry about it was made as the final project for a class. it was made in 2017 and in early 2020 it was part of video game art gallery's "system link: video game as memoir" exhibition.
- home alone was made as a week-long class assignment in 2017. it's a "trying to respond to notifications while dealing with fatigue from depression" simulator.

- 1 year out is a game about four recent college graduates adjusting to some changes in their lives. it was made in 2019 for a game jam, but we didn't quite finish it in time to submit it. i worked on the game with very talented people ghoulbroth, jonny hopkins, Kelly Weng, and Erica Cherrington. i did most of the writing, as well as some narrative design stuff.

- epic skellyton fashion is a little skellington dress-up flickgame where, for one beautiful and brief moment, you get to pretend you're a skellyton getting dressed up in the most coolest outfit imaginable. it was made in march 2022.

- BELIEVE IN SOMETHING BIGGER is a zine made with electric zine maker, based on a poem i wrote a few years ago when i was working at a grocery store.
games in progress
- fabric is a game that's been paused for a long time. i worked on it a bit during an artist residency in 2018. it's about being trapped on the floor of a closet under a pile of old clothes. it's also about my relationship with old clothes being in recovery from an eating disorder.
- supernatural girlfriend anniversary date night simulator has been paused since october 2020. it's a ren'py game. all the art assets are illustrations i did based on old public domain artwork.
- what it felt like to be here is a bitsy game i've been working on some since 2021, cataloging elements from different places i've lived in the last couple years. each room has ambient audio i made with a bunch of stuff from freesound.org that i combined to try to recreate the ambient noise of that living space.
- speed dating for weirdos and freaks ONLY is a dating sim i started for an ms paint game jam but didn't finish in time and have since paused. the premise is that i, violet bignastytruck, know you've been having trouble meeting somebody so i am gonna set you up on some dates.
- forest spirits is a game about a journey to get your deepest questions answered.
